Bill Tucker Paintings

PAINTINGS

In the Spring of 2021, following a period of virtual isolation during the plague year of 2020 as American society began to reawaken, Tucker began working on a series of freely-rendered, abstract watercolor and colored pencil paintings.

In these works multiple intersecting lines, created through a free use of colored pencil layered over paint, enhance and give depth to the underpainting and at the same time, set up an intriguing contrast of colors.

These works on paper resemble tapetsries seemingly comprised of an infinite number of interwoven, multi-colored strings presented against a background of atmospheric and diffuse areas of color.
